1. Can I combine sketch and color search?

Following example will show that Sketch search (2D) and Color Search do mesh very well.

A handle is searched, exemplarily.

  1. Open the Sketch search (2D).

  2. Draw the front view and then click on Commit and Search.

-> In fact the results match the sketch, however are far off the desired result.

    [Note]Note

A "perfect" first sketch would have brought the desired result directly. However, this example shall show how to achieve the desired result with sketches not quite perfect and a combination of methods.

  3. Create a sketch for side view and top view in addition and again click Commit and Search.

If no results show up, click on the button Extend search range to 80% similarity.

-> Now the desired result is under the first.

  4. Now also add the Color Search. For example, choose red and a tolerance of 100.

    [Note]Note

100 means that each of the three RGB components is allowed to differ maximal with 100. (In order to differentiate between red, yellow, blue and green this is sufficient.)

    Click Commit and Search.

-> Now the desired result appears as the first.

  5. Open the part.

-> The table has already been filtered so that the correct part with the red cover is selected.

  6. Revoke the filter by clicking on the icon Search filter on/off and select another table row.

-> Other table rows have the same part, but with other covers and these have been filtered by the Color Search.
